Meredith Salenger

Salenger was born and raised within Malibu, California. Salenger enjoyed performing before her close family members and friends as a kid. When she was just eight years old she was taken by her mother to her first class in acting. She was in a minor part as "a dance and singing orphan" in John Huston's feature film Annie. Salenger did several television ads. Salenger was cast as the lead for The Journey of Natty Gann produced by Disney and was a film starring John Cusack alongside Ray Wise. This film won the Moscow Film Festival's gold medal as the first US-made movie. The film also earned her "Best actor in a drama" in the Youth in Film Awards for her portrayal of the tomboyish Natty Gann. The actress also appeared in four films before turning the age of 18.
